Gideon, the technician who worked on my plumbing was very knowledgeable and was willing to talk thru the cost, what the work involved and answered every one of my many questions. He was courteous and tidy and the job was a success.

A truly exceptional plumbing company. They came out very quickly. Dewey helped my grandmother with some plumbing issues regarding a leak and truly exceeded our expectations. He went above and beyond to find a solution that worked for her, as well as getting it done quickly. We also were able to get a referral to an air specialist to help figure out her other moisture issues. Overall, im truly thankful for a company that cares about their clients first, and money second. I feel safe having my older grandma using their company while also not being taken advantage of (unfortunately common down in Flordia). Her go to plumber from now on! Thank you for the quality care you provide.

Storm Drain Camera Inspection

At PRS, we do detailed camera inspections of storm drains. With our cameras, we’ll find leaks and clogs, and our technician will determine if your storm drains need repair. The drainpipes aren’t pressurized, so it’s hard to find leaks without a camera.

Storm drainage pipes and lines can be cleaned with a VacCon, vacuum trailer, high-powered water jetting, and mechanical cleaning equipment. It depends on what’s causing the obstruction, leak, or clog. Clogs can be cleared with a cleaning, and the storm system can run more efficiently, or perhaps a leak will be found requiring lining or another pipe drain rehabilitation solution.

FAQs

  • Why do storm drains need to be cleaned?

Storm drains collect rainwater and direct it away from streets, properties, parking areas, and other surfaces. Over time, leaves, dirt, sediment, trash, and other debris can accumulate inside the drain and restrict water flow. Regular storm drain cleaning helps prevent blockages, standing water, flooding, and potential damage to surrounding property.

  • How do I keep storm drains from clogging?

Keep leaves, grass clippings, dirt, trash, and other debris away from storm drain openings, particularly before and during heavy rain. Regularly inspect exterior drains and remove visible debris from grates and surrounding areas. For drains that collect significant amounts of sediment or debris, professional cleaning can help prevent buildup from becoming a larger blockage.

  • How much does a plumber charge to clean out a drain?

The cost of drain cleaning depends on the type of drain, the severity and location of the blockage, and the equipment needed to clear it. Storm drain cleaning may also cost more when extensive sediment buildup, roots, or other obstructions are present. A plumber or drain cleaning professional can provide a more accurate estimate after inspecting the drain.

  • How often should outside drains be cleaned?

There is no single schedule that works for every property. Outside drains should generally be inspected and cleaned regularly, with more frequent cleaning for properties surrounded by trees, areas that collect significant debris, or locations that have experienced recurring drainage problems. Cleaning before periods of heavy rainfall can also help reduce the risk of blockages and flooding.

  • Who is responsible for blocked rainwater drains?

Responsibility depends on where the blocked drain is located and who owns or maintains it. Property owners are generally responsible for drains located on their private property, while public storm drains and drainage infrastructure may be maintained by a local government or other responsible authority. If you are unsure who is responsible for a blocked rainwater drain, check with your local municipality or property manager.
